CMS Awarded $9M Design-Build Hangar Renovation at Dover AFB

MAUMEE, OH – CMS Corporation (CMS), an experienced Department of Defense (DoD) construction prime contractor, announced today it was recently awarded a $9 million design-build (D-B) project to repair Hangar 706 at Dover AFB, DE. Dover AFB is under the operational control of the Air Mobility Command (AMC). The 436th Air Wing is the host wing and runs the busiest and largest air freight terminal in the DoD.

The scope of work for this project includes design and multi-disciplined construction to update and repair architectural/interior, HVAC, controls, fire protection, fire alarm system, and electrical at the hangar. The project also includes repairs to exterior wash rack drains at the site. Century Engineering is a member of the CMS D-B team and will be the Designer of Record (DOR) for this project.

The U.S. Air Force awarded this project to CMS – a prime contract holder under the $2.5 billion suite of Regional Engineering and Construction (RE&C) multiple award contracts for work at US Air Force installations across the United States. Most recently, CMS was one of eight firms awarded the $70 million Small Business (SB) Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC) at Dover AFB. Projects under the MACC may include single- or multi-discipline design services and/or general building construction for new, renovation and addition-type projects at the Base, as well as interior design, lead and asbestos abatement and/or incorporation of sustainable features.

CMS Wins 2017 SAME Small Business Award

MAUMEE, OH – CMS Corporation (CMS) has been awarded the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Small Business Award for 2017. This award goes to a small business (SB) that has completed work for the US Army, US Navy or US Air Force within the last 5 years in an outstanding manner. CMS received this prestigious award due to a proven track record of working with other SBs in the industry; letters of commendation, awards, evaluations, etc. showing exceptional past performance for our clients; and participation in and contributions to various SB conferences.

The award was presented 16 November 2017 at the SAME 2017 Small Business Conference (SBC) in Pittsburgh, PA. CMS CEO Ernest Enrique and President Mercedes Enrique attended the SBC and received the award.

CMS was one of 300 exhibitors at this year’s SBC. Over 2,500 people from the A/E/C industry, including small and large businesses and government officials from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Veteran’s Administration, Department of State, etc. attended this year’s conference. CMS Awarded $240M Navy Northwest MACC

MAUMEE, OH – The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Northwest has awarded CMS Corporation (CMS) an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, small business set-aside multiple award construction contract (MACC) for design-build or design-bid-build construction projects located primarily within the NAVFAC Northwest area of responsibility (AOR), which includes WA, AK, ID, IA, MN, MT, NE, ND, OR, SD, and WY. Approximately 90% of the work is expected to be performed at naval facilities in the State of Washington. The contract ceiling for the base year and 4 option years, for all awarded contracts combined, is $240,000,000.

The scope of work includes new construction, renovation, demolition and repair of facilities, including but not limited to, administrative facilities, housing facilities, child care centers, recreation/fitness centers, retail complexes, manufacturing and industrial facilities, communication facilities, special access program facilities or sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIFs), aviation facilities (e.g., hangars, control towers, etc.), or other similar facilities. The term of the contract is not to exceed 60 months, with an expected completion date of July 2022.

CMS was one of 8 firms awarded a contract. Awardees may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract. In all, the Navy received 24 proposals. The contract was set aside for small business. NAVFAC Northwest out of Silverdale, WA, is the contracting activity.
