CMS Welcomes Jim Bell as Engineering Manager

MAUMEE, OH – CMS proudly announces the addition of Jim Bell, RA, LEED AP, as Engineering Manager. Bell joins CMS with 20 years of experience in architecture and engineering, facility planning and design, and construction management. Prior to joining CMS, Bell worked for La-Z-Boy Incorporated as Preconstruction Manager/Architect. Before that, he was the Engineering Manager for a worldwide Department of Defense construction contractor and also worked for various architecture and design firms.

Ernest Enrique, CEO, stated, “In this key position, Jim will support design-build proposal efforts and our project execution teams in the field. He brings the technical expertise, design oversight, design quality control, LEED implementation, and construction lessons learned necessary for our growing list of design-build projects. His extensive design-build project delivery experience in both the commercial and military sectors significantly enhances our ability to provide technical excellence and value engineering alternatives to our current and future clients anywhere in the world.”

Bell has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy, is a Registered Architect (RA) in the States of Indiana, Michigan, North Dakota, and Ohio, and holds a National Council of Architectural Board (NCARB) certification. He is also a U.S. Green Building Council LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional). He will work out of the CMS Maumee, OH office.

CMS Receives 8th MICCS Safety Award

MAUMEE, OH – CMS received the 2014 Zero Injury Award from the Metro Indianapolis Coalition for Construction Safety, Inc. (MICCS) at its 22st Anniversary & Awards Celebration on April 30, 2015. The Zero Injury Award is given to companies whose craftspeople working for the company have not suffered a work-related accident resulting in loss of consciousness, restriction of work or motion, transfer to another job or requiring medical treatment other than first aid in the previous calendar year. CMS worked a total of 152,262 labor hours during the 2014 calendar year with zero recordable incidents. This is CMS’s 8th Zero Injury Award in the past 10 years, a testament to CMS’s safety culture and exceptional health and safety program.
Several CMS Operations personnel attended the awards celebration, which was held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN, among them Khush Mander, CMS Vice President of Operations. Mr. Mander noted, “The fact that we have won this award 8 out of 10 years demonstrates we are a company that is conscientious about safety. Safety starts with our guys in the field. Each one of our team members understands safety is Priority One on all of our projects.”
