ICD/ICS 703 – Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF)
ICD/ICS 703 is a Section entitled “Protection of Classified National Intelligence, Including Sensitive Compartmented Information” in Intelligence Community Directives, published by the US Director of National Intelligence. CMS was responsible for designing and building an area within the facility that met the ICD/ICS 703 standards and specifications according to this directive. We met the requirement as well as all other requirements of the renovation project and were awarded an Outstanding rating upon completion.
This project was for the design and renovation of 9,400 SF of office space. CMS parsed the existing open area into specific funcational areas, including a communications room, an evidence vault, administrative offices, and functional common areas for personnel of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Also included was secure space in compliance with ICD/ICS 703 Version 1.2, which required full-height sound transmission class (STC)-rated sound walls and doors. We replaced supply and return ductwork, performed asbestos removal, and upgraded the HVAC, sprinkler, and fire alarm systems, as well as the electrical infrastructure.
